Today we have something very special for students with a sweet-tooth! Tumblr user and DDF follower Sydnesaurus has submitted a recipe for a quick cake in a mug. Thanks so much for your submission and I hope all of you find a place for this recipe in your backlog of meals!

Cake in a Mug, no oven required!
The good thing about this nifty little treat is that it takes literally no effort, skill, or materials. All you need is a box of cake mix, a mug, and a microwave.
Make the mix according to the box, whichever kind of mix you prefer is fine. Whether it be chocolate fudge or vanilla, any cake mix will do. If you prefer to use your own cake recipe, go ahead and use that, too. Whatever your cakey-heart desires will suffice!
I’d recommend using this recipe if you plan on having a party, because as I’ve found one box of cake mix yields about 6 mugs of cake. Unless you plan on eating six cake-mugs, I’d save it for a rainy day ONLY because cake batter will last no more than 2 days in the fridge.
Pour the mix into the mugs and fill them only about 1/3rd of the way, any more and you’ll have some over-flow.
Microwave each mug with mix for about 3 minutes, and Voila! Cake in a mug, made in a microwave. Frost and decorate as much as your cakey-heart desires! (:
I didn’t invent this idea, but I learned it from my friend who unfortunately does not have a tumblr. So halfway (c) Sydnesaurus.
