This might be one of the quickest meals you could make for lunch. All you need is a few ingredients, and you have yourself a meal. Add a few more, and you’ve got a gourmet college lunch. Grilled Cheese. That delicious crispy golden brown bread with that warm, melted cheese oozing out the sides. I’m getting hungry just writing about it. This is the basic version, but if you’re ready for more, check out an advanced grilled cheese recipe!
- 2 slices of Bread
- slices of Cheese
This makes one sandwich, you’re probably going to want more if you’re hungry so multiply it out. Check the tip at the bottom for a more intense sandwich.
- Generously butter one side of each slice of bread. Put one slice butter side down in a small frying pan.
- Add Cheese on top of the bread and place the other buttered bread slice butter side up (say ten times fast for good measure) atop the cheese.
- Once the bottom appears golden brown, flip the whole sandwich over so the uncooked butter side is face down. Don’t be expecting any sizzle, you just have to keep checking.
- When the cheese has melted and the now bottom bread appears golden brown, take it off the frying pan, let cool slightly and enjoy!
(DDF Tip– Buy some cambells tomato soup to dip the grilled cheese in. You could also add tomatoes, turkey or bacon to grilled cheese if you’re up to it!)
