Too often we become slaves to the same old salad. Lettuce, bacon bits, pass the ranch—you know the drill. We forget that making a great meal is no different than telling a great story. Stop opening your dinner with a cliché garden salad and show us your adventurous side. This summer salad, tossed together with some of my favorite summer staples is the perfect way to open your meal on a different note.
Look at me wax poetic on a damn summer salad with fruit. Just eat this, it’s good, and thank me later in the comments.
- Manderan Oranges, Canned
- Balsamic Dressing
- Grilled Chicken, Diced
- Bacon Bits
- Drain the mandarin oranges from the can, set aside.
- Wash strawberries, then, using a serrated knife, slice into fourths.
- Carefully slice almonds in slivers, or simply buy them already sliced.
- Toss a desired proportion of spinach, fruit and almonds together in a bowl, serve with balsamic dressing.
